504 people in their seventies in US test positive for COVID-19 during week ending August 17

There were 504 people in their seventies who in the United States tested positive for COVID-19 during the week ending August 17, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Out of those who provided figures, 104 individuals were hospitalized and 21 were admitted to the ICU.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Association stated that in the United States, children represent about 9 percent of all COVID-19 cases. The Mayo Clinic points out that children of all ages can contract COVID-19 but most don’t become as ill as adults and some show no symptoms at all.
