Congratulations to Joani Shaver!
Since 2011, Joani has worked tirelessly as the Director of the Office on Aging, which is part of the Blount County Community Action Agency. During Joani’s 11 year tenure as Director, she has helped numerous Blount County Seniors find housing resources, fill out lengthy insurance or financial assistance paperwork, she updates the senior services directory, and Joani created the Senior Miles, or SMiles, program that offers rides for seniors at low costs. Joani’s commitment, kindness, and care to helping Blount County Seniors has made an incredible impact in our community. We’re so thankful that even with her retirement, she’ll continue helping with a new project called Safer Homes for Seniors.
