Our American flag represents the 50 states of the Union, and the colors of the flag are symbolic. The red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
Today, Memorial Day, let us not forget that since our country was born in 1776, hundreds of thousands members of the United States military have died defending our flag.
As many of us enjoy a day off with family and friends, please let us not forget the meaning of this day. Take a moment and remember the heroes who laid down their lives for the United States of America.
