Blount County Sheriff's Office Adds Additional Senior Outreach Volunteers

051e

Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong is proud to announce several new Senior Outreach volunteers graduated this week from our Senior Outreach Training course..

The Sheriff's Office currently has approximately 30 Senior Outreach volunteers who check on elderly and shut-in citizens in Blount County. The program began in 2001 and has grown over the years. This is a program that Sheriff Berrong was excited to implement more than 20 years ago. Since its inception, Senior Outreach volunteers have assisted hundreds of seniors and shut-in citizens who may otherwise receive very little if any assistance and visits from family or friends.

We are very proud of this program and the citizen volunteers who serve our community!
