Blount County Come to the Water Inaugural Fundraiser

It was an honor to be part of the inaugural fundraiser for Come to the Water!

I can't wait to see the total donations received today after all the pies.  I'm pretty sure I'll still be cleaning whipped cream out of my hair until we do this again.

There's still time to donate. The online campaign hosted by Alcoa Kiwanis will stay open for two more weeks:

Come to the Water raises money so children have the opportunity to attend a safe week caring summer camp through the Come to the Water ministry.  The camp gives the kids in our area an amazing chance to experience and learn about essential life skills such as being self-confident and improving their approach to self-esteem.

The scholarship for one child at the cost of $550 gives one child a full week of camp, six days, and three meals a day.  The Come to the Water Camp is essentially another way that we can minister and support children in our community to experience something good in life that they can keep in their memories and hearts for the rest of their life. We have seen and heard testimonies of children that have been able to attend this camp and it is so heartwarming to hear that they were able to be kids just a little while longer with the stress of life being relieved for fun and excitement.
