A tough defeat followed by a 3-0 sweep wrapped up Maryville's second weekend in the Collegiate Conference of the South.
The Scots led host Huntingdon 2-0 but dropped the last three sets to the first-place Hawks. The set scores were 24-26, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23 and 15-8. Maryville bounced back to blank Wesleyan by scores of 25-13, 2-19 and 25-23.
Isabella Samson continued her recently stellar play with not one but two career game highs in the opener. The senior posted 22 kills and 22 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
Amii Ingalls and Meredith Bonee also had double-doubles. For Ingalls, it was her sixth of the year with 10 kills and 13 digs, while Bonee had 39 assists and 18 digs for her sixth this season as well.
In the Wesleyan match, Landry Frisch recorded her first double-double of the campaign with 12 kills and 15 digs. Hannah Kammer also had 15 digs and Hannah Potts contributed seven kills.
Maryville is now 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the CCS. Huntingdon improved to 16-4 and 5-0 in the CCS with the home sweep, while Wesleyan is now 3-9 and 0-5.
The Scots are home Wednesday against Covenant (6-10, 4-1 CCS) in a 7 p.m. start.
