Maryville College Bonee Named Co-Player of the Year

Meredith Bonee's outstanding career at Maryville is not done yet. She and the Maryville Scots are headed to Lookout Mountain to play in Friday's Collegiate Conference of the South Volleyball Tournament semifinals.

But Bonee earned a measure of what her final season with the Scots has meant to the team – 2022 CCS Co-Player of the Year.

Bonee and Covenant's Emma Kalbfleisch shared top player honors in voting by the coaches after an amazing race for the top spot that saw Covenant, Maryville, Huntingdon and Berea separate themselves from the rest of the CCS pack.

She helped lead Maryville to a 22-8 mark thus far, including a 13-3 record in CCS play this season. The Scots floor-leader is currently first in the conference in assists per set at 9.04 and second in services aces per set at 0.59. Bonee leads the team with 11 double-doubles and she ranks fourth among active Division III assist leaders with 3,270. The Knoxville native has 877 assists for the season and needs just six more to top last year's career-high of 883.

Bonee during this season also has passed the 1,000 career digs mark and is up to 1,243 as a Scot.

Joining Bonee on the All-CCS First Team is Isabella Samson. The Tampa, Florida, product leads the team with 275 kills, averaging 2.9 per set.

Maryville's Second Team selections are Amii Ingalls and Hannah Potts. Ingalls posted 14 kills in the regular season finale against LaGrange for her second-best total in a three-setter this season (18 vs. Piedmont). She added 10 digs that day for her 10th double-double. Potts leads the team with a .296 hitting percentage to go with 139 kills.
