The Roane St. Lady Raiders kept their record perfect on Monday night with a 65-60 win over Milligan University JV.
On a night where the Roane women shot only 36.4-percent (24 for 66) from the field, the Lady Raiders had to dig themselves out of an early hole to earn their fifth win of the season.
By the end of the first, Milligan’s Lady Buffalos had jumped out to an 18-10 lead over the Roane St. In the second, the Lady Raiders fought back to tie the game at 32-32 at halftime.
The third quarter was a fist fight with the Lady Raiders taking the frame 17-16 to head to the final stanza with a one-point lead, 49-48.
The Lady Raiders won the fourth period, 16-12, to take the game with a 65-60 win, which improved the team’s unblemished record to 5-0 on the season.
Three Lady Raiders ended the night with double-digit scoring, led by sophomore guard Bralyn McGaha’s 16-points, which included the team’s two three-pointers of the night. Sophomore guard Macy Kirby added 11 points in the win, while sophomore Summer Varnum came off the bench to chip in 10-points in the paint.
