Maryville College Scots Fall Short Against Keene State

Maryville fell to Keene State 78-69 on Day 1 of the Great Lakes Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

The Scots 69 points scored are the fewest this season, and the fewest since their USA South loss to LaGrange last year (62 pts.)

Despite their low-scoring performance, MC shot a season-best 43.5 percent (27-for-62) from the field.

The first half remained close for almost the entirety of the 20 minutes of play, with Maryville down just two points with 1:56 remaining.

The final two minutes of the half though, were all Keene State. The Owls outscored the Scots 7-2 as the clock ran out in the first half.

The Second half was even closer than the first, with Keene State outscoring Maryville just 31-29 in the final 20 minutes of play. The Scots managed to tie it up at 55 apiece with a jumper from Myles Rasnick, but Keene State pulled away from there and wouldn't lose the lead again.

Rasnick led the squad with 16 points and 10 rebounds, recording his first double-double of the season. The senior continued his stellar defensive play, picking up two blocks and recording four consecutive steals for the third consecutive game. Rasnick leads all CCS players in the category.

Chase Ridenour finished as the second-highest scorer for the Scots, picking up a season-high 12 points to go along with two rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
