On Tuesday, Sheriff's deputies presented an employee of Foothills Mall with one of the Sheriff's Office's most coveted awards, the Citizen Service commendation.
Crime Scene Investigator Jim Williams presented Ms. Rose Sherwood with the commendation Tuesday. Ms. Sherwood, who serves as a security officer at Foothills Mall, received the award due to her assistance in helping the Sheriff's Office and other local law enforcement in an investigation involving a man who was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple crimes. Ms. Sherwood observed suspicious activity that led to his arrest, and she went above and beyond to help bring his crimes to light, and to help a victim of his crimes.
The Sheriff's Office awards the Citizen Service Commendation very seldom and only in extraordinary circumstances. Sheriff James Lee Berrong congratulates Ms. Sherwood for her bravery and selflessness!!
