Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong is proud to announce that Cpl. Joe Dudley was named the Sheriff's Office Employee of the Year during the Employee Appreciation Lunch held today at the Sheriff's Office.
Cpl. Dudley is a 26-year veteran employee of the Sheriff's Office. He serves as the Corrections Compliance manager. Cpl. Dudley was chosen as our Employee of the Year due to his hard work in navigating the Corrections function of the Sheriff's Office through five audits and inspections in 2022. Most notably, due to Cpl. Dudley's hard work, TCI (Tennessee Corrections Institute) awarded the Sheriff's Office Tier 2 accreditation in the jail facility, an achievement held by only one other correctional facility in Tennessee.
Cpl. Dudley exemplifies the Sheriff's Office mission statement with his commitment to excellence through his hard work and dedication to the citizens of Blount County.
During the luncheon, the Sheriff's Office Citizen's Academy Alumni and a representative of Alcoa Tenn Federal Credit Union recognized all of the Sheriff's Office 2022 Employees of the Month with an appreciation gift. Congratulations to all of our monthly award winners, and to Cpl. Dudley on being named Employee of the Year!
