Johnson hit two home runs and peppered a dozen hits in a five-inning, 11-2 decision over Maryville to complete a doubleheader sweep here Tuesday. The Royals won the opener 6-3.

Maryville was its own worst enemy, leaving 19 runners on base in the 12 innings and committing six errors.

In the nightcap, Sara Koonce and Bailey Myers had two hits apiece. Koonce popped her second triple of the season and kept her 2023 batting average at .500, while Myers reached base three times. The Scots had eight hits but left eight runners.

The visiting Royals scored twice in the first inning and four times in both the second and fifth innings to wrap this one up. They had 12 hits, including home runs from Maeson Tanner in the second and Maddy Hood in the fifth.

Madisun Pritchard earned the victory with three innings of relief. She allowed a pair of earned runs on five hits, improving to 4-1. Paige Dickinson started in the circle for the Scots and took the loss. She is 2-1.

Maryville left three runners on base without scoring in the very first inning of Tuesday's opener – a sign of things to come for the Scots.
