Maryville began its Collegiate Conference of the South schedule and won its third match in a row with a 7-2 home victory against Belhaven on Saturday.
The Scots dropped No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles but prevailed elsewhere. Belhaven arrived with just four players able to complete, so Maryville earned forfeit wins at No. 3 doubles and the bottom two singles slots.
Abby Diggs and Eliza Cheshire won at No. 2 doubles with an 8-7 (7-2) decision. Diggs came back and was a victor at No. 2 singles, winning 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Elizabeth Shwaiko won in straight sets at the No. 3 singles position by a 6-3, 6-4 count.
And Amy Smither at No. 4 singles won in an extended third-set tiebreaker. Smither rolled to a 6-0 first-set victory but then lost 6-2 in the second set. The third set tiebreaker ended in Smither's favor 13-11.
