Blount County Sheriff's Office Boy Scout Merit Badge | Blount County Sheriff's Office

On Wednesday, Sheriff James Lee Berrong and Community Outreach coordinator Lt. Brad Butler provided a young Boy Scout an opportunity to earn a merit badge by providing him with a tour of the Sheriff's Office and a chance to meet with several deputies along the way.

Liam Patterson, 13, met with Investigator Jessica Moretz and  experienced a few of the duties assigned to our Crime Scene investigators, including lifting a fingerprint from an object, and Investigator Moretz then fingerprinted Liam. Liam also interviewed Sheriff Berrong and spoke with  other deputies about their duties at the Sheriff's Office. K-9 Deputy Justin Summers, his K-9 partner Wiskey, and Deputy Summers' trainee Deputy Josh Berrong demonstrated some of K-9 Wiskey's talents as a deputy sheriff. Last stop: meeting and speaking with Records Manager Pam Comer and the ladies in our Records Office.

Thanks for stopping by, Liam! We hope you are awarded your merit badge!
